On behalf of Rector Prof. Vladimir Ivanovich Trukhachev, leading Timiryazev scientists held talks with colleagues from Cuba working in Moscow as part of the Russia-Cuba intergovernmental commission in the field of agriculture and genetic engineering. The purpose of the visit was to strengthen international cooperation and establish strong scientific ties between the scientists.
The discussion focused on research work in the field of organic farming, genetic engineering, and biotechnology. University specialists expressed interest in the qualitative increase in the number of students from Cuba and teaching Russian language students from Cuba at the Preparatory Department of the university. The parties expressed readiness to work on the creation of joint master's degree programs.
During the visit, the delegation of the Republic of Cuba visited the advanced scientific centers and laboratories of the Timiryazev Academy. The guests highly appreciated the material and technical equipment of the university departments.

The Rector, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor Vladimir Trukhachev, thanked the university staff for their unprecedented activity in the elections and the highest support for the current President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin. All professors, staff, and students of the Russian State Agrarian University - Moscow Agricultural Academy took part in the voting.

Vladimir Trukhachev stressed that Timiryazevka is the only agrarian university that participates in the elite track of the state program "Priority 2030". Projects of international scale are implemented by the world-class scientific center "Agrotechnologies of the Future", created on the basis of the university. The Timiryazev breeding and seed production center works extremely efficiently.
In turn, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of "Al-Firdous" Salah Hantoush told about the activities of his company. He thanked the university staff and personally Rector V.I. Trukhachev for warm welcome and expressed readiness to establish close ties with the advanced agrarian university. Such partnership, in his opinion, is intended to give a positive effect for the agrarian industry of the Republic of Iraq.
The parties agreed that Russian Timiryazev State Agrarian University will participate in a joint pilot project on revitalization of agriculture in the Republic of Iraq. The University will organize agrochemical analysis of soil, based on the results of which recommendations on land use, irrigation, selection of grain crops will be developed. These recommendations will form the basis of the wheat breeding program in the Republic of Iraq.

"For his great contribution to the development of national science, many years of fruitful activity and in connection with the 300th anniversary of the founding of the Russian Academy of Sciences to award the Order of Alexander Nevsky to Vladimir Ivanovich Trukhachev - Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences," the text of the document says.

The integral rating took into account 615 universities subordinate to federal ministries and departments, regions and municipalities, as well as non-state universities. This is the largest base of regularly analysed Russian higher education institutions.
The Timiryazev Academy takes the 37th spot. The Russian State Agrarian University became the unqualified leader among agrarian universities in the list, almost twice exceeding the scores of the nearest pursuer - 26 against 14.

“The Best at AGROS” contest traditionally honors the most popular and adapted solutions for the Russian agricultural market.

According to the results of the contest, 3 developments of scientists from the Timiryazev Academy were among the best. In the nomination "Best Scientific Development AGROS-2024", according to the jury, the project on evaluation of the biosafety system of the pig breeding and genetic center, whose authors included the Rector, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor Vladimir Trukhachev, Professor of the Department of Private Zootechnics Ivan Svinarev and Professor of the Department of Veterinary Medicine Natalia Kulmakova, deserved the highest evaluation. The innovativeness of the development lies in the scientific substantiation of the bio-safety assessment system to improve the efficiency of the pig breeding industry.

In the nomination "The best fodder solution of AGROS-2024" the grand prize was awarded to coriander cake developed by scientists of the University and produced by Alushta essential oilseed farm. It is used for feeding farm birds, rabbits and ruminants.

In the new nomination "Best Veterinary Solution of AGROS-2024" the grand prize was awarded to the method of diagnostics of postpartum dysgalactia syndrome in pigs developed by Evgenia Latynina, Associate Professor of the Department of Veterinary Medicine, and Professor Georgy Dulger. The new method is based on the use of remote infrared thermography of the mammary gland of pigs and suckling piglets.
